- Levante International Film Festival 2009 lasts from 7th november till 14th november
- LIFF 2009 opens with a concert in the cathedral of Bari where classic movies music will be played
- In the LIFF will take place events connected with the UNEP/UNESCO declaration of 2009 as the Year of Gorilla (YoG). This animal is the symbol of LIFF. Some movies with gorillas as characters will be shown in the Faculty of Veterinary (King Kong, Gorillas in the Mist, Gorilla Nabonga, Koko le gorille qui parle, etc.)
- The LIFF 2009 edition will have a look at countries like Romania, Armenia, India, Spain and USA.
- On Monday 9th november in the morning important events will take place for students with movies that have as subject civil, social and ecological engagement (Into the Wild, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Le Scaphandre et le Papillon).
- On Monday 9th november seminars will take place in the Faculty of Veterinary. The seminars will be led by experts like Shelly Masi and Chloe Cipolletta on Big Apes.
- In the LIFF wide attention to independent cinema and proposals from 3D animation world (on Tuesday 10th november) with DreamWorks collaborators like Gary Lee, Kyle Jefferson, Jim Dooley and Charley Cullen Walters.
- On Wednesday 11th november a seminar will take place in the Faculty of Languages, led by Rada Sesic, the best expert in Indian cinema and also in production from Sri Lanka. The matter will be Bollywood and its quick developement in the motion-picture world.
- At Fortino S. Antonio a seminar about the sound vision technology evolution and its usefulness in film libraries with Andrea Morini (Bologna Film Library), Anca Mitran (Romania Film Library) and other representatives of public and private Italian film libraries.
- On Tuesday 10th, in homage to the American independent Cinema, meeting with Joshua Marston, Oscar Nomination director for Maria Full of Grace; on Thursday 12th will be shown in the S. Teresa dei Maschi Library some movies by Alexandre Rockwell, one of the best American Cinema author.
- On Friday 13th a window opened over the great director Stanley Kubrick and his not so known documentary activity by Jan Harlan, director, executive producer of Kubrick and also his brother-in-law.

- Il Levante International Film Festival 2009 dal 7 al 14 novembre
- Apre il 7 novembre l’edizione 2009 del Levante International Film Festival con un concerto serale di musiche classiche per il cinema, nella Cattedrale di Bari.
- Al LIFF si svolgeranno eventi legati alla proclamazione da parte dell’UNEP/UNESCO del 2009 come Anno del gorilla, animale simbolo del festival. Saranno proiettati film come King Kong, Gorilla nella nebbia, Gorilla Nabonga e Koko, le gorille qui parle.
- Lo sguardo dell’edizione 2009 abbraccerà paesi come la Romania, l’Armenia, l’India, la Spagna e gli USA.
- Importanti iniziative per le scuole al LIFF con proiezioni di film di impegno sociale, ecologico e civile come Into the wild, Il bambino con il pigiama a strisce, Lo scafandro e la farfalla.
- Alla Facoltà di Veterinaria di Bari, lunedì 9 novembre, seminari tenuti da esperti come Shelly Masi e Chloe Cipolletta sulle Grandi Scimmie.
- Al LIFF massima attenzione al cinema indipendente ed alle proposte provenienti dal mondo dell’animazione tridimensionale, come nel seminario del 10 novembre con esperti collaboratori della DreamWorks come Gary Lee, Kyle Jefferson, Jim Dooley e Charley Cullen Walters. Aperte le iscrizioni.
- L’11 novembre presso la Facoltà di Lingue si svolgerà il seminario tenuto da Rada Sesic, massima esperta del cinema indiano e dello Sri Lanka: si parlerà di Bollywood e della sua crescita esponenziale nello scenario cinematografico.
- Mercoledì 11 novembre al Fortino S. Antonio, seminario sulla evoluzione della tecnologia audiovisiva e sulla sua funzionalità nelle cineteche con Andrea Morini (Cineteca di Bologna), Anca Mitran (Cineteca di Romania), e rappresentanti di cineteche italiane pubbliche e private.
- Omaggio al cinema indipendente americano, martedì 10 novembre alla facoltà di Lettere incontro con Joshua Marston, regista Oscar Nomination, per il suo Maria Full of Grace; giovedì 12 novembre alla Biblioteca di Santa Teresa dei Maschi, con la proiezione di alcuni film di Alexandre Rockwell, una dei maggiori autori americani di Cinema.
- Al LIFF, venerdì 13 novembre, una finestra aperta sul grande regista Stanley Kubrick e sulla sua, meno conosciuta, attività di documentarista. Relatore, Jan Harlan, produttore esecutivo, regista, nonché cognato del grande artista.
